Four million German households use mobile phones as fixed net replacement


Approximately four million private households in Germany were equipped at the beginning of of 2008 with mobile phones, without ordering additionally over fixed mains connections. That corresponds to a portion of nine per cent of all German private households. To this result the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) comes to the evaluation of a current income and consumption sample. In the year 2003 the portion of the households with mobile phone and without fixed net telephone had amounted to still four per cent.
